PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Two Plymouth State University lacrosse student-athletes were recognized by the Little East Conference (LEC) for their performances on the field last week.

Sophomore Griffin Jacobson (Windham, Maine) was named the LEC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while senior Sam Sullivan (Canton, Mass.) earned LEC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Jacobson posted a strong week as the Panthers finished 2-2. He posted a career-high five points (two goals and three assists) and grabbed four ground balls in Monday's 14-9 win over Lasell College. On Wednesday he added a hat trick with three ground balls in an 11-4 setback to Clark University. He added two goals and an assist in a 12-8 win over LEC foe Salem State University on Friday and capped the week with a goal and an assist in an 8-6 loss to Castleton University on Sunday afternoon. Jacobson has posted at least one point in every game this season and currently leads the Panthers with eight assists and 20 points. His 12 goals are the second most on the team. This is his first weekly honor of the year.

Sullivan continued her strong play to help lead the women's lacrosse team to a 2-0 week. She led the Panthers with 10 ground balls and eight caused turnovers on the defensive side, also chipping in six goals and two assists for good measure. In Wednesday's 14-4 win over Castleton University she picked up seven ground balls, forced four turnovers and added three goals and an assist. She followed that up with three ground balls, four caused turnovers, three goals and an assist in a 16-1 dismantling of LEC opponent Rhode Island College.
