Seventh annual event set for Dec. 8
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University department of athletics will host its seventh annual Student-Athlete Open House on Saturday, Dec. 8.
The event provides prospective student-athletes interested in collegiate athletics at Plymouth State an opportunity to meet current and former Panthers and coaches and learn about PSU's academic model. Pre-registration for the event is encouraged but not required. A link is provided below.
The event kicks off with on-site registration at 9:00 a.m. at the Hartman Union Building's Fireplace Lounge. The formal presentation begins at 10:00 a.m. at the new Merrill Place Conference Center where women's soccer senior Kate Martin (Westmoreland, N.H.) will issue welcoming remarks.
Men's ice hockey junior Kyle Orgel (Los Angeles, Calif.) and softball junior Caitlyn Miller (Lee, N.H.) will speak about their journey to Plymouth State and Associate Head Football Coach Devin Zeman '04 and men's soccer alumnus Jeremy Gaskowski '04 will discuss the Panther experience.
Plymouth State Director of Career Development Leslie Blakney '07 will also discuss the university's innovative approach to education, the cluster model, while sharing an overview of how the student-athlete experience translates to today's job market.
Attendees will also enjoy campus tours, lunch at Prospect Dining Hall, and an opportunity to catch multiple Panthers' teams in action. The men's and women's indoor track & field teams will be hosting the PSU Winter Classic at the Bank of New Hampshire Field House in ALLWell North, the women's swimming & diving team faces Westfield State University in a dual meet at the PSU Natatorium, the men's and women's basketball teams square off against Eastern Connecticut State University in Foley Gymnasium and the women's ice hockey team clashes with the University of Southern Maine at Hanaway Rink.
