Senior student-athletes celebrated for their accomplishments
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University department of athletics held its fourth annual Student-Athlete Senior Banquet in Heritage Hall on Monday night.
Director of Athletics Kim Bownes '08G, welcomed the group, praising them for their accomplishments on the field of competition, as well as in the classroom, before introducing a number of special guests in attendance including President Donald Birx.
Director of Development and Major Gifts, John Scheinman, gave an address highlighting the importance of philanthropy and Plymouth State's PSUnite mentoring program. He also reflected on the life of Carleton Parish '71, whose legacy of giving back to Plymouth State included nearly one million dollars donated to student scholarships and other university projects including the building of Hanaway Rink and ALLWell North, and 2018 graduate Elijah Johnson, a former member of the football team.
Senior student-athletes were presented with PSU Athletics stoles to be worn at graduation, along with a blanket featuring the PSU Athletics logo.
Other special guests of the evening included Provost Robin Dorff PhD, and his wife Carolyn, Interim Vice President for Communications, Enrollment & Student Life Marlin Collingwood, former Director of Athletics John P. Clark '71 and local businesswoman and Athletic Council member Patti Biederman '76.
