PSU Athletics suspends spring contests through April 1

NCAA cancels all winter/spring championships 

            PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University Director of Athletics Kim Bownes announced today that the department has suspended all contests for all six of its spring athletic teams through April 1. The affected programs include men's and women's lacrosse, baseball, softball and men's and women's outdoor track & field.

            PSU's baseball and women's lacrosse teams, currently playing in Florida and Colorado, will complete their trips as planned.

            Additionally, NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors has canceled all winter and spring NCAA championships in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cancelation of the NCAA championships affects three winter sports programs; men's indoor track & field, men's skiing and men's ice hockey.

            Likewise, Plymouth State is canceling all public swim sessions at the PSU Natatorium and suspending the start of non-traditional seasons until April 1.

            Plymouth State athletics is continuing to monitor the situation and will reevaluate its policy as new information becomes available in the coming days and weeks.
