The Physical Education Center (PE Center) is the primary facility for the PSU Athletic Department. Opened in 1969, the building includes department offices; a 1,600 seat gymnasium; a six-lane, 25-yard swimming pool; a wrestling room; The Vailas Performance Center fitness facility; the Athletic Training and rehabilitation facility and also serves as the home of the Health and Human Enrichment cluster. The PE Center is surrounded by over 33 acres of athletic fields and an additional 12 acres used by the Intramural/Recreation Department. Anyone using the PE Center facilities must have a current student or faculty/staff ID or a valid pool pass. Community members must purchase a pool pass to use the pool during scheduled Open Community Swim sessions. The PE Center, including the pool, will be closed to the public on the following holidays in 2019: Sept. 2, Oct. 14, Nov. 11, Nov. 28 - Dec. 1 and during any inclement weather delayed openings/closures.
