Panthers have “Pink” games in field hockey, women’s soccer
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Two Plymouth State University athletic teams are supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month with promotional events at this Saturday’s home games.
The Panther field hockey and women’s soccer teams will be hosting Breast Cancer Awareness events this Saturday, Oct. 8. The field hockey event will take place at Arold Field as the Panthers host Fitchburg State University in a Little East Conference game at 12 noon, and the women’s soccer festivities will take place at Panther Field as PSU entertains the University of Southern Maine in a Little East contest at 4:30 p.m.
Players from both Panther teams will be wearing pink in their pregame and/or game uniforms, and fans can purchase pink bracelets, lanyards and sponsorships in support of the cause. All funds raised at the games will be going to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an organization supporting breast cancer research.
PSU encourages all fans to wear pink to both events. The Panther Athletics department hopes the campus and local community can help make a difference in the lives of all breast cancer patients.
