PSU Fall student-athletes set to return to campus
Preseason camps begin for six Panther teams
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – With the start of school just around the corner, the Plymouth State University fall athletic teams are getting ready for a return to campus for the start of preseason training.
The Panther football team is the first to return, arriving on campus this Sunday, August 12. The PSU gridders have three weeks until their first game, a non-conference affair at Castleton State College on Saturday, Sept. 1.
The field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams report to practice on Wednesday, August 22. All four of those teams will officially open the season with tournament play over Labor Day weekend, with the field hockey team traveling to Springfield College, the men’s soccer team playing in the ECAC Classic on Cape Cod, the women’s soccer team competing at the Colby-Sawyer Labor Day Tournament, and the volleyball squad participating in a quad at Wheaton College.
The PSU women’s tennis team is the final group to report, arriving in Plymouth on Friday, August 24. The net women will gear up for their opener at the University of Southern Maine on Saturday, September 1.
The first home games are slated for the first week of September, with the regular season ending for most sports the end of October and post-season action taking place the first week of November.
