PSU Athletics to hold Prostate Cancer Awareness Day
Events at Panther Hockey, Basketball, Swimming contests
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University Athletics will be hosting a Prostate Cancer Awareness Day this Saturday, Jan. 19th, at four athletic contests in Hanaway Rink, Foley Gymnasium, and the PSU Natatorium.
This endeavor is in part, a tribute to former Plymouth State coach and educator Joseph L. Clark, Sr., who passed away in 2012 to prostate cancer. All proceeds from the four events will go to the New Hampshire Prostate Cancer Coalition (http://nhprostatecancer.org/).
All the Panther teams encourage their fans to wear light blue to the events on Saturday. The Panther women's hockey team will be wearing special light blue jerseys as they face off against Saint Anselm College (2:00 p.m.), and they will also be selling a select number of game jerseys and baby blue Plymouth State Hockey T-shirts. The PSU women's and men's basketball games against Rhode Island College (1:00 and 3:00 respectively) will have special contests and giveaways, and the Panther women's swimming & diving team will be wearing light blue bathing caps to recognize the occasion in their meet (1:00 p.m.) against the Blue Jays of the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.).
PSU Athletics is hoping for a great turnout! Hope you can join us for a great day. Wear your baby blue to show your support!
