Panthers gearing up for 2014 campaigns
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The official start to summer isn’t here yet, but the Plymouth State University athletic programs already have an eye on autumn.
With the PSU fall sports season less than three months away, the Panther schedules are now available on the school’s athletics website at athletics.plymouth.edu. Six of the eight fall teams will begin play on the weekend of Sept. 6-7, with the other two opening up the following weekend.
This fall will be a transitional year for the Panthers as the University constructs ALLWell Center North, an indoor track facility to be located on the perimeter of the athletic fields. The construction project will force the Panther men’s and women’s soccer programs to move most of their games to a turf field at nearby New Hampton School, while the Panther women’s tennis team will practice and play its matches at The Holderness School.
The 2014 campaign will mark the second season for the Panther men’s and women’s cross country programs. The Panther football team also begins its second year as a member of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) while the cross country, field hockey, soccer, tennis and volleyball programs continue their challenges in the Little East Conference.
The complete schedules are updated on the PSU Athletics website. All schedules are subject to change.
