PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The Plymouth State College athletic teams have returned from spring trips to Florida, only to find snow still on the ground in New Hampshire and the playing fields unfit for use. That has caused several cancellations and postponements for the Panther squads.
The PSC baseball team, which had home games scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday at Panther Field, has postponed both contests. The match-up against Lyndon State slated for Tuesday has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on May 2nd at Lyndon State. PSC's contest against Saint Anselm, scheduled for Wednesday, has been cancelled and will likely not be rescheduled. PSC is still on for the Little East Conference opener this Saturday at defending co-champion Eastern Connecticut.
The Panther softball team is still slated to open the Little East Conference portion of its schedule this Saturday at UMass Dartmouth. Sunday's twinbill at Bowdoin, however, will not be played as scheduled in Brunswick, Maine. The match-up has been tentatively been set up for Sunday at Brown University in Providence, R.I.
The PSC women's lacrosse team, which played its game Tuesday as scheduled at Babson, has changed Thursday's game against Springfield. Originally slated to be PSC's home opener, the game will now take place on the turf at Springfield Thursday at 7 p.m.
The Panther men's lacrosse team, which had its game against Colby College postponed last week, will not be able to host American International College Friday at Panther Field. Officials from both schools are looking for a suitable date to reschedule the contest. No official date has been announced for the Colby make-up either.
There have been no changes to the PSC men's tennis schedule. The Panthers open the season Wednesday at Saint Anselm (3:00 p.m.).
