Hodsdon and Zinis named ECAC All-N.E.

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2002 Division III New England All-Star teams, and seven Plymouth State College student-athletes have been recognized for their performances this past spring.

Three members of the Panther women's lacrosse team were named ECAC All-New England - sophomore midfielder Katie Sheridan (West Sayville, N.Y.) on the First Team, junior defender Julie Shields (Whitby, Ont.) on the Second Team, and senior defender Megan Wolfley (Maplewood, N.J.) as Honorable Mention. All three were also voted First Team All-Little East Conference last month.

A pair of Panther baseball players were honored with ECAC All-New England selections - junior third baseman Scott Hodsdon (Somersworth, N.H.) on the First Team and junior outfielder Jay Zinis (Manchester, N.H./West) as Honorable Mention. The two were First Team All-Little East Conference picks last month, and were also All-New England selection by the New England Baseball Coaches Association.

Two PSC softball players were named ECAC All-New England Second Team - freshman pitcher Kim Jeffs (Stoughton, Mass.) and junior catcher Adriene Harvey (Nantucket, Mass.). Both were Little East Conference First Team choices last month, and Jeffs was named Third Team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

The ECAC Division III All-Star Teams are voted on by the respective head coaches of all New England schools.
