PSU Baseball Player named Rookie of the Week

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The starting second baseman on the Plymouth State University baseball team has been recognized by the Little East Conference for his efforts in five Panther games last week.

Freshman Trevor Hall (New Boston, N.H.) was named LEC Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sunday, May 2nd.  He is the first Panther to earn weekly recognition from the LEC this season.

Hall turned in a stellar offensive performance in five games, collecting 10 hits in 19 at bats (.526) with a pair of doubles, five runs scored and seven RBI. He went 7-for-11 with five RBI in an LEC doubleheader at Rhode Island College, and had two hits and two RBI against Dartmouth College, which was ranked second in New England in Division I.

Hall is providing the bright spot in what is otherwise a disappointing Panther season. He leads the team in batting average (.346), hits (37) and doubles (11), shares the lead in stolen bases (10), and has made only five errors in 32 starts at second base.

The Panthers, 5-28 overall, wrap up the season with five games this week - a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday at Castleton State (2:00 p.m.), a non-conference single game Thursday at Daniel Webster (2:00 p.m.), and a Little East Conference twinbill Saturday at Panther Park against Western Connecticut (12:00 p.m.).
