PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The Plymouth State University baseball team swept a non-conference doubleheader from Thomas College Sunday afternoon at Panther Park, winning the opener, 7-5, and taking the nightcap, 9-4, in a pair of seven-inning games.

Plymouth State scored at least one run in each of the first five innings of the opener, finishing with 11 hits in the game. Junior Steve Campo (Londonderry, N.H.) went 3-for-3 with an RBI, while sophomore Josh Labossiere (Lincoln, R.I.) went 2-for-4 with a double and his team-leading fifth home run of the year. Senior C.J. Rousseau (Merrimack, N.H.) also collected a pair of singles and an RBI.
Junior Tim Conway (Bedford, N.H.) pitched the first 5.1 innings and picked up the victory to improve to 2-1. Sophomore Ryan Lavelle (Middleboro, Mass.) got the final five outs for his first save. Junior Matt Pavlis (Webster, Mass.) led the visitors with two hits, including an RBI triple.
The Panthers jumped out to a 9-0 lead and coasted home with the win in the nightcap. Sophomore Justin Flanagan (Hingham, Mass.) held the Terriers scoreless until the seventh inning when Thomas broke the shutout on a grand slam by senior Jerry Randall (Milton, N.H.)
Sophomore Doug Urquhart (North Andover, Mass.) led the Panthers' 12-hit attack in the nightcap with three hits and an RBI. Campo added a pair of singles and Labossiere contributed a two-run triple.
The Panthers are scheduled to play a home-and-home series with New England College this week, the two teams playing in Plymouth on Wednesday and in Henniker on Thursday, both games at 3:30 p.m.
