PSU Baseball player earns Little East Conference honor
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of the seniors on the Plymouth State University baseball team was honored Tuesday when the Little East Conference announced its All-Star team for the 2006 season.
Senior Adam Kobeski (Walpole, N.H./Fall Mountain) was named to the All-LEC First Team as a designated hitter. He was the only Panther recognized on the annual squad after enjoying a comeback season.
A 6'2", 250-pound first baseman/DH, Kobeski led the team with a career-high .343 batting average in 27 games. He contributed four doubles, a triple, 13 runs scored and 13 runs batted in, coming back from a junior year when he played in only 11 games. Kobeski finished his career with a .276 batting average in 81 games, with seven doubles, one triple, two home runs, and 33 RBI.
Kobeski was the leading hitter on a Panther team that finished this spring with a 15-24 overall record and a 3-11 mark in Little East play under veteran coach Dennis McManus.
