PSU Baseball player named Little East Conference All-Star
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of the seniors on the Plymouth State University baseball team was honored Tuesday when the Little East Conference announced its All-Star team for the 2007 season.
Senior Josh Labossiere (Lincoln, R.I./Lincoln) was named to the All-LEC Second Team as an outfielder. He was the only Panther recognized on the annual squad after enjoying another solid campaign.
PSU's center fielder this spring after starting at first base a year ago, Labossiere (right) posted a .365 batting average in 126 at bats. He collected eight doubles, two triples, four home runs and 23 runs batted in while scoring 30 runs and stealing a team-high eight bases (in nine attempts). He was named LEC Player of the Week in mid-April after batting .643 for the week.
Labossiere was one of the leading hitters on a Panther team that finished this spring with a 12-24 overall record and a 3-11 mark in Little East play under veteran coach Dennis McManus.
