Regan and Lee noted for Panthers with LEC Weekly Honors
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Two Plymouth State University student-athletes earned weekly recognition from the Little East Conference (LEC) Monday following their performances in Panther spring sports action last week.
Senior Tucker Regan (Niantic, Conn./Niantic) was named LEC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, and freshman Brandon Lee (Canton, Mich./Salem) was selected LEC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week. They were the top players as the Panther squads opened the season and head into their annual Spring Break.
A 6'1", 180-pound right-hander, Regan went 2-0 in his first two appearances of the season with a 0.75 earned run average. He has allowed just one run on five hits and two walks in 12 innings of work while striking out 10. Regan struck out six batters in a complete-game seven-inning effort in a 6-0 win over Plattsburgh State (N.Y.), allowing just two hits.
The Panther baseball team is off to a 4-2 start this spring, with eight more games scheduled this week in Florida.
A 6'0", 188-pound short stick middie, Lee won 21 of 27 face-offs as PSU defeated Lasell College, 13-12. The Panther freshman also picked up 13 ground balls to claim both the top defensive player and rookie award for the week as PSU posted its first win of the season.
PSU, 1-1 overall, plays a non-conference game Tuesday at Massachusetts Maritime (4:00 p.m.)
