Third annual Bryant Lausberg game set for Sept. 30
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University baseball program will hold its third annual Bryant Lausberg Alumni Game on Sunday, Sept. 30, at noon announced head coach Clay Jenkins.
The game, one full nine-inning contest featuring current Panthers facing off against PSU baseball alumni, will be played at Parish Field. All baseball alumni and their families are encouraged to attend.
Prior to the game the teams will observe a moment of silence in memory of Bryant Lausberg, a 2011 graduate of Plymouth State who passed away unexpectedly in the spring of 2016. Lausberg was a three-year member of the Panthers' baseball team, posting a career .338 batting average. He was a captain, Panther Award winner and served as an assistant coach in 2012.
"Bryant was a standout athlete who was well-liked by everyone whose path he crossed," said Jenkins. "He excelled academically and was a pillar in the Panther baseball program and community."
The Panthers' 2017 jerseys included Lausberg's #7 on the sleeve, and were purchased with donations made to the team in Lausberg's name.
"The Bryant Lausberg Alumni Game is a fun way for alumni to compete against current talent, as well as reconnect to the Panther baseball family," Jenkins added.
A small gathering at Biederman's Deli will follow the event. Those interested in additional information or wishing to register for the game should contact Jenkins at email@example.com or (603) 236-2553.
