Phil LeBlanc enters his first season as a coach's aide with PSU baseball in 2019. LeBlanc will work primarily with the catchers, but also brings immeasurable baseball knowledge to the staff. His baseball experience and familiarity will add to the strategic mindset of the staff. Having a coach dedicated to working with the catching core will be an extremely positive addition to the team's success.
After attending Rollins College for his freshman year, LeBlanc played collegiate baseball at hte University of Massachusetts Amherst in the early 1980's where he caught for legendary coach Dick Bergquist. Over the past 30 years LeBlanc has been an active alumni in an advisory role with the UMass athletic department and baseball program. He graduated in 1983 from the Isenberg School of Management with aBachelor's of Science in Marketing.
Upon graduation, LeBlanc entered the financial services/insurance industry. In 1998 he was one of the founding partners of Longfellow Financial, a Boston-based employee benefits firm that grew to be one of the premiere benefit firms in the region. In 2013, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co acquired Longfellow and LeBlanc was an Area Senior Vice President until 2018.
LeBlanc grew up in baseball-driven Lynn, Mass., raised his three children with his wife Noreen in Andover, Mass., and now resides in Meredith, N.H. His interests and passions are baseball, skiing, hiking, golf, boating and music.
