PSU Football players recognized for work in the classroom
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Six members of the Plymouth State University football team have been recognized by the Freedom Football Conference for their efforts in the classroom as well as on the football field.
The Freedom Conference has announced its All-Academic Team for 2003, and six of the 68 players honored are from Plymouth State. The six include graduate student and co-captain Jason Bordas (Elmore, Vt./U-32), senior defensive ends David Fontes (Lincoln, R.I.), Eric Lawless (Plymouth, Mass./South) and Doug Martin (Manchester, N.H./West), junior offensive lineman Justin Powers (Milton, N.H./Spaulding) and sophomore running back Jeremy Roberts (Fair Haven, Vt.).
To be named to the FFC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average and play a significant role on the football team.
