Two Plymouth State Football players recognized by ECAC
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Two members of the Plymouth State University football team have been recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for their performances in a Panther victory last Saturday.
Junior defensive tackles Jeff Ethier (North Attleboro, Mass.) was selected ECAC Division III Northeast Co-Defensive Player of the Week, and junior running back Kyle Clark (Bradford, N.H.) received Weekly Honorable Mention. They were the leaders that helped PSU down Becker College last Saturday, 31-8. In addition, Ethier was selected to the d3football.com Team of the Week.
A 6-1, 245-pound tackle, Ethier (left) led a Panther
defense that kept Becker off the scoreboard until the final five
minutes of the game. He recorded seven unassisted tackles,
including a season-high three sacks, and two other tackles in the
Becker backfield. Ethier also recovered a fumble that set up PSU's
final touchdown. He is now third on the team in total tackles with
32, including a team-best 28 unassisted stops and four sacks.

A 5-8, 171-pound tailback, Clark (right) enjoyed a
breakout game last Saturday, rushing 25 times for a career-high 154
yards and three touchdowns. He had gained 158 yards on 54 carries
in PSU's first five games. Clark scored on a 25-yard run to give
PSU a 6-0 first-quarter lead, added an eight-yard burst in the
second quarter, and finished his day with a one-yard plunge early
in the fourth quarter. He is the team's leading rusher with 312
yards on 78 carries (4.0 average).

The Panthers, 2-4 overall, will look for their second straight win this Saturday when they host Springfield College at Currier Field (1:30 p.m.)
