PSU Football player named Pre-Season All-America
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The top defensive player on the Plymouth State University football team has been honored with a selection to a Preseason All-America Team.
Senior co-captain Dan Fallon (Manchester, N.H./Central) earned Honorable Mention on the 2006 Football Gazette NCAA Division III Preseason All-America Team. He has been the leading tackler for PSU the past three years from his safety position and is primed for a strong senior campaign.
A 5'9" safety, Fallon (left) broke on to the scene as a freshman in 2003 with a team-high 72 tackles and earning Freedom Football Conference Rookie of the Year honors. He followed with back-to-back 77-tackle seasons, leading the team both years and collecting four interceptions and five fumble recoveries along the way. The two-year co-captain will be a team leader again this fall.
Fallon and the Panthers report for fall camp on Sunday, Aug. 20, with the first game slated for Saturday, Sept. 9, at Mount Ida College. The home opener at Currier Field is also the first New England Football Conference game on Saturday, Sept. 23, against UMass Dartmouth.
