Two PSU football players named to NEFC Weekly Honor Roll
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Two Plymouth State University student-athletes were named to the New England Football Conference Weekly Honor Roll Monday after helping the Panthers to their second straight victory on Saturday.
Senior quarterback Tye Seastedt (Danville, N.H./Timberlane) and sophomore safety Mike Lannon (Sharon, Mass.) were PSU's representatives on this week's NEFC Honor Roll. They were key players who helped Plymouth State post a 19-18 victory over Western New England College on Saturday in an NEFC Boyd Division contest.
A 5'10", 185-pound QB, Seastedt (left) led PSU in rushing
vs. WNEC, carrying the ball 14 times for 72 yards (5.1 avg.). He
also completed 6-of-8 passes for 53 yards as the Panthers ran the
ball on 47 of 55 plays from scrimmage. Seastedt also contributed on
special teams, kicking his first career point after following PSU's
first touchdown, booting the ball through the uprights left-footed.
Seastedt has rushed for 227 yards on 52 carries this season (4.4
avg.) with two rushing touchdowns. He's also completed 23-of-47 for
207 yards through the air.
A 5'11", 189-pound DB, Lannon (right) collected six
tackles, all solo, while forcing a fumble and recording two pass
break-ups. Both of his break-ups came in the fourth quarter with
WNEC driving for a potential game-winning score, including one on
fourth down. Lannon is third on the team with 19 tackles (17 solo).
The Panthers, 2-2 overall and 2-0 in NEFC Boyd Division games, will be on the road for the next two weeks, starting this Saturday at Endicott (5:30 p.m.)
