Two PSU football players named to NEFC Weekly Honor Roll
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Two members of the Plymouth State University football team were recognized Monday with selection to the New England Football Conference Weekly Honor Roll following the Panthers' 35-3 victory over MIT.
Junior running back Jeff Mack (Milford, N.H.) and senior strong safety Dan Fallon (Manchester, N.H./Memorial) were PSU's representatives on this week's NEFC Honor Roll. They were instrumental in helping the Panthers, 3-5 overall, get back on the winning track and even their Boyd Division record at 3-3.
A 5'11", 200-pound tailback, Mack (left) rushed for 101
yards against MIT on just eight carries (12.6 avg.) and two
touchdowns. He scored on a 59-yard run late in the first quarter to
put Plymouth State up 14-3, and added a 20-yard TD run with three
minutes to go in the first half to make it 21-3. Mack leads the
Panthers in rushing this season with 479 yards on 85 carries (5.6
average), along with five touchdowns.
A 5'9", 189-pound safety, Fallon (right) led the Panther
defensive effort that held MIT to three points. He made eight
tackles, four solo and one tackle for loss, and broke up two pass
attempts. A Football Gazette pre-season All-American, Fallon is
tied for the team lead in tackles with 51 and has collected one
interception, five pass break-ups, and seven tackles for loss.
The Panthers wrap up the regular season this Saturday with a home game against Salve Regina (12:00 p.m.) It will be Senior Day at Currier Field, as PSU's 12 seniors will be recognized prior to kick-off.
