PSU football player named to NEFC Weekly Honor Roll
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of the starting running backs on the Plymouth State University football team was recognized Monday with selection to the New England Football Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
Senior tailback Jeff Mack (Milford, N.H./Milford) was PSU's representative on this week's NEFC Honor Roll. He was one of the standouts in PSU's 41-30 season-opening victory over Mount Ida College last Saturday at Currier Field.
A 5'11", 208-pound back, Mack (right) carried the ball 26
times for 110 yards and three touchdowns, while also catching two
passes for nine yards. He opened the scoring in the game with a
five-yard TD run, added an eight-yard scoring burst early in the
third quarter to put the Panthers up 24-12, and added a
game-clinching touchdown from five yards out with two minutes left
in the game.
Mack led the team in rushing last season with 580 yards on 108 carries (5.4 average) with six touchdowns.
The Panthers, who opened the season with a win for the first time since 2000, are home again this Saturday at Currier Field. PSU will host defending NEFC Bogan Division Champion Coast Guard at 1:30 p.m.
