PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The top offensive lineman on the Plymouth State University football team has been honored for his performance during the 2007 season with his selection to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Northeast All-Star Team.
Senior center Craig Baird (Worcester, Mass./Holy Name) was Plymouth State's representative on the ECAC Northeast All-Star Team. The squad includes a total of 26 players, 14 from the New England Small College Athletic Conference and 12 from the New England Football Conference.
A 5'11", 239-pound center, Baird (left) was also named to the All-NEFC First Team in 2007. He anchored the offensive line that helped the Panthers lead the 16-team NEFC in rushing offense (286.5 yards per game) and rank fifth in total offense (392.3 yards per game). Baird was a key ingredient that helped PSU gain 2,601 of its 3,608 total yards on the ground, and blocked for All-New England and All-East Region running back Jeff Mack (Milford, N.H.), who finished second in the NEFC in rushing with 1,171 yards and fourth in the league in scoring with 12 touchdowns.
The Panthers completed the season at 9-1 overall, including a victory over Bridgewater State College in the ECAC North Atlantic Bowl.
