PSU Football player repeats on NEFC Weekly Honor Roll
Long posts second straight 100-yard rushing effort
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – For the second straight
week, the starting halfback on the Plymouth State University
football team was honored by the New England Football Conference
for his performance on the gridiron last Saturday.
Sophomore running back Ty Long (Dover, N.H./Dover)
was named to the NEFC Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. He
provided the Panther highlights in a disappointing 41-16 loss to
Mount Ida College in the home opener at Currier Field.
A 5'8", 178-pound back, Long (right) rushed 23 times for 128 yards on Saturday, a 5.6 average. It was his second straight 100-yard rushing performance and the fifth of his career. Long is off to a strong start this season and ranks fifth in the NEFC with 117.5 rushing yards per game. He was the NEFC Boyd Division Rookie of the Year in 2009.
The Panthers, 1-1 overall, travel to Bridgewater State University this Saturday for the NEFC crossover game (1:00 p.m.)
