PSU Football player named to NEFC Honor Roll
Castellucci receives weekly honor for fourth time
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The starting middle
linebacker on the Plymouth State University football team was
honored by the New England Football Conference for the fourth time
this season on Monday, earning weekly recognition for his
performance in last Saturday’s season-ending setback to Curry
College.
Senior linebacker Brian Castellucci (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton) was named to the NEFC Weekly Honor Roll. He was the top player on the Panther defense in last Saturday’s 24-21 loss to Curry that concluded the season for both schools.
A 5'10", 204-pound co-captain, Castellucci (right)
anchored the Panther defense with 10 tackles, including two sacks
and three total tackles in the Curry backfield. An All-NEFC
First Team pick a year ago, Castellucci led the Panthers in tackles
this season with 82, which ranked 12th among the 16 schools in the
NEFC.
The Panthers concluded the season with a 6-4 overall record, missing the post-season for the first time in four years. PSU finished in a tie for fourth place in the Boyd Division of the NEFC with a 4-3 conference mark.
