PSU Football player earns ECAC post-season honor
Mulcahy represent Panthers as North All-Star
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its 2011 football season all-stars on Tuesday, and the group included a Plymouth State University defensive back.
Senior Christian Mulcahy (Norwich, Conn.) is Plymouth State's representatives on the ECAC Division III North Football All-Star Second Team as a defensive back. Mulcahy was also a New England Football Conference First Team All-Star at defensive back and Second Team pick as a return specialist.
A 5'9", 175-pound safety and special teams standout, Mulcahy had a season full of big plays. As a safety, he ranked fifth in the NEFC with five interceptions, including two each in back-to-back wins over Nichols and MIT. He also made 34 tackles and four pass breakups and forced a fumble.
Plymouth State completed the season with a 4-6 overall record and a 2-5 mark in Boyd Division games, ending a streak of four straight winning seasons.
