Boulay represents Panthers in win over Maine Maritime
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – One of the senior captains on the Plymouth State University football team was honored by the New England Football Conference Monday for his performance in last Saturday's 13-7 triumph over Maine Maritime Academy.
Senior corner back Ray Boulay (Keene, N.H./Keene) represented Plymouth State on this week's NEFC Weekly Honor Roll. A three-year starter for the Panthers, Boulay earned his first career weekly honor from the NEFC.
A 5'7", 164-pound corner, Boulay led the Panthers with 11 tackles against the Mariners, including 10 solo stops. He also collected a pass break-up and his first interception of the season. Boulay and the Panther defense stopped Maine Maritime on fourth and goal inside the five yard line in the final minute of the game to preserve the victory.
Boulay ranks among the top five in the 16-team NEFC this season in passes defended (four break-ups, one INT) and ranks among the top 10 defensive backs with 19 tackles.
The Panthers, 1-2 overall, open NEFC Boyd Division play this Saturday with a visit to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (4:00 p.m.)
