Gbaley recognized for second time
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University sophomore Prince Gbaley (Manchester, N.H.) was recognized by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) by appearing on the Football Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season.
Gbaley helped seal the Panther's 40-14 victory over Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Saturday, allowing PSU to stay atop the MASCAC standings. Plymouth State is currently 7-1 (6-1 MASCAC), and is enjoying its best eight-game start to a season since the 1995 team opened a perfect 8-0.
Deep in the fourth quarter, with PSU already holding a 33-14 lead, Gbaley came up with his team-leading fourth interception of the year. The 5-11 defensive back outran the Buccaneer's for a 56-yard touchdown return to account for the final score.
The Panthers will be back at Currier Field on Saturday (Oct. 28), when they welcome MASCAC foe Westfield State to campus. It will also be Senior Day for PSU, as the team will honor its seniors prior to the 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
