Panthers ninth in East Region
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The first NCAA Division III Football regional rankings have been released and Plymouth State University is ninth in the East Region.
PSU (8-1) is one spot behind Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) rival Western Connecticut State University (7-1), which was responsible for the Panthers' lone loss this fall.
Undefeated Delaware Valley University (Penn.) holds the top spot in the region, with SUNY Brockport and Springfield College rounding out the top three. Wesley College (Del.), Frostburg State (Md.), Husson University, and Union College fill the fourth through seventh spots, followed by WCSU, Plymouth State and Curry College.
The Panthers will play their final regular season game on Saturday when they travel to Fitchburg State for a 12:00 p.m. MASCAC contest. A PSU win, coupled with a win by Framingham State over Western Connecticut, would cement PSU's first MASCAC title and guarantee an NCAA Tournament game.
