PSU Football player earns MASCAC recognition

McGregor named to Weekly Honor Roll

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Following Saturday's regular season finale, a starting defensive back for the Plymouth State University football team was among those recognized by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) when the league announced its weekly award winners.

Senior Grant McGregor (Burlington, Conn.) was chosen for the MASCAC Football Weekly Honor Roll after his performance in Plymouth State's 21-10 setback to regional power Husson University.

McGregor finished with a team-high 11 tackles (one solo) while helping anchor a defense that limited one of the region's top offenses to 21 points and just seven through the first half. Entering the game the Eagles, ranked ninth in New England, had averaged more than 28 first half points and nearly 43 points per game.

McGregor's play helped PSU build a 10-7 lead entering the half, before Husson took the lead for good with a pair of third quarter TDs. It was his first weekly honor.

Plymouth State wrapped up the season with a 6-4 overall mark and a 5-3 record in MASCAC play. All three of the team's league losses were by less than a touchdown.
