SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Senior forward Nan Duga scored two goals and sophomore forward Liz Omura added a goal and two assists as the Springfield College field hockey team defeated Plymouth State College Saturday, 7-0.
Springfield jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first half on goals by Duga, Omura and senior back Abby Perham. The Pride continued their outburst in the second half, adding four goals by junior midfielder Caroline Black, Duga, junior forward Melissa Rogers and senior forward Terri-Lyn Hendy. Springfield outshot the Panthers 20-1 in the contest. Goalies Alexis Cear and Liz Sena registered the shutout for the Pride, while PSC freshman Kerry Brady (Jefferson, NH) made 11 saves in her collegiate debut.
PSC, 0-2, will seek its first victory of the season for first-year coach Bonnie Lord this Tuesday, Sept. 12th, at Colby College (4:30 p.m.).
