PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Plymouth State College has announced that its field hockey coach will remain on the athletic staff after serving one season as interim head coach.
Bonnie Lord, who led the Panthers to one of the best seasons in school history in 2000, has had the "interim" title removed, and will continue as permanent head coach. The announcement was made by PSC Interim Director of Athletics John P. Clark.
Taking over the program last August, Lord guided PSC to the Little East Conference regular season and tournament titles and an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. The Panthers finished 10-0 in conference play and 15-5 overall, and Lord was named LEC Coach of the Year. A 1973 graduate of Green Mountain College, Lord coached field hockey at Kingswood (N.H.) High School from 1980-1999, posting a record of 244-52-34. She guided her teams to the state finals 11 times, winning six championships. A three-time Coach of the Year, Lord has also been very involved with the U.S. Field Hockey Association Futures program the past 10 years.
