Trinity stops Panthers

WORCESTER, Mass.- Trinity College scored two second half goals and went on to defeat Plymouth State College 2-0 in a non-conference field hockey game held Thursday evening at Worcester State College.

Plymouth State outshot Trinity 10-4 in the first half, but had nothing to show for it as the teams were scoreless heading into the second half. Heather Standing broke the ice for the Bantams seven minutes into the half, and Bea Gratry provided an insurance goal with 8:38 remaining. PSC finished with a 14-10 advantage in shots on goal.

Trinity goalkeeper Jessica Martin made 10 saves, and PSC keeper Ellen Ward (Thorndike, Maine) made was credited with seven saves. Trinity evens its record at 2-2 with the victory, while PSC drops to 3-3.

The Panthers are back in action Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Little East Conference and Granite State rival Keene State College.
