PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The leading scorer on the Plymouth State College field hockey team has been recognized regionally for what was an outstanding 2001 season.
Senior midfielder Megan Fournier (East Waterboro, Maine) was selected to the ECAC Division III All-Star Second Team. The All-Stars include the top Division III standouts from ECAC teams in New England, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. A senior tri-captain and two-time selection to the Little East Conference All-Star First Team, Fournier finished off one of the best seasons in school history as well as concluding an outstanding career. She led the team in scoring in 2001, tallying 16 goals and two assists for 34 points, and wraps up her career with 29 goals and 15 assists. The 16 goals is the fourth-best single-season total in PSC's record books, and her 34 points is fifth-best. She finishes tied for seventh on the career scoring list with 73 points. Fournier was the key player as the Panthers won back-to-back LEC Championships in 2000 and 2001, and made consecutive appearances in the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
PSC has finished with 15-5 overall records the past two years. With her field hockey career complete, Fournier is now in her fourth season on the Panther women's basketball team, serving as co-captain this year.
