More post-season honors for PSU Field Hockey player
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Post-season honors continue to come in for the leading scorer on the 2005 Plymouth State University field hockey team.
Senior forward Lilly Silva (Lowell, Mass.) was named Division III New England West Region First Team All-Star on Monday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). In addition, Silva was named Division III Third Team All-American by the website womensfieldhockey.com. Silva was also named Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Year and LEC First Team All-Star earlier this month, and last weekend participated in the prestigious North/South Senior All-Star game in Virginia.
A three-time All-LEC First Team selection and two-time All-New
England West Region All-Star, Silva (left) completed a
terrific season and career in a Panther uniform. She shared the LEC
lead in goals (19), led the conference in game-winning goals (6)
and finished second in total points (45), and was selected the LEC
Offensive Player of the Week three times this season.
Silva, who became PSU's all-time leading scorer on Sept. 10, finishes her career with PSU standards for career goals (66) and points (155), and ranks second on PSU career list for assists (23).
Plymouth State wrapped up the season with a 13-6 overall record after participating in the ECAC New England Tournament, its sixth straight post-season berth. The Panthers also shared the LEC regular season title with Keene State, both with 9-2 records.
