PSU Field Hockey drops overtime contest at Endicott
BEVERLY, Mass. - Senior Caitlyn Murray (Templeton, Mass.) scored the only goal of the game a minute and 35 seconds into overtime Wednesday afternoon to lead Endicott College to a 1-0 victory over Plymouth State University in a non-conference field hockey game.
The Gulls had a 20-11 advantage in shots, including an 11-5 margin in the second half, but neither team could put one in the goal through 70 minutes of regulation. Murray's game-winner was her third goal of the season, and was assisted by senior Lyndsay Woods (York, Maine).
Senior Erin Curry (Hampstead, N.H.) collected 11 saves to record her second shutout of the season for Endicott. Junior Katie Randall (Portsmouth, N.H.) was busy in the Panther net, making 18 stops.
PSU, 3-2 overall, resumes Little East Conference play this Saturday with a visit to Southern Maine (1:00 p.m.) Endicott, 5-2, visits New Hampshire on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. game at New England College in Henniker.
