PSU Field Hockey student-athletes earn academic honors

            PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Six members of the Plymouth State University field hockey team have been recognized with national academic honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

            The six Panthers were named to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad, which recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2008-09 academic year.

            The student-athletes representing Plymouth State on the team are senior Ashley Gutowski (Conway, N.H./Kennett), junior Morgan Lemmon (Gilford, N.H./Bishop Brady), sophomore Betsy Renauld (Penacook, N.H./Merrimack Valley), and freshmen Lauren Bergeron (New Hampton, N.H./Newfound), Alissa Raboin (Newport, Vt./North Country Union), and Brittany Treichel (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School).  Gutowski, Lemmon and Renauld are repeat members of the team.

            Plymouth State advanced to the post-season in 2008 for the eighth time in nine seasons, finishing with a 15-8 overall record.
