PSU Field Hockey players receive LEC weekly honors
Treichel and Frenette represent Panthers
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Two Plymouth State
University field hockey players were recognized by the Little East
Conference Monday with top weekly honors for their performances in
a pair of Panther victories last week.
Junior Brittany Treichel (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) was named LEC Defensive Player of the Week, and freshman Annabelle Frenette (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) was selected LEC Rookie of the Week. The two were honored after leading the Panthers to a pair of LEC shutout victories last week over Framingham State University and Eastern Connecticut State University.

Panther defense to the back-to-back shutouts. PSU did not
allow a shot to Framingham State and surrendered only three shots
to Eastern Conn. Treichel also scored her first career goal
against Eastern Conn. in 52 career games.
A 5’4” midfielder, Frenette (left) scored
three goals for six points in the two games. She tallied two
goals in PSU’s 4-0 win over Framingham State on Wednesday,
and added one goal in Saturday’s 10-0 rout over Eastern
Connecticut. Frenette is now tied for third on the team in
scoring with six goals and 12 points.
The Panthers, who have won four in a row to improve to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the LEC, host rival Keene State on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at Arold Field.
