Panthers recognized in Field Hockey and Men's Soccer
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Little East Conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday, and this week's group includes three Plymouth State University student-athletes.
Sophomore Jackie Morin was named LEC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week, and sophomore David Quist and freshman Ryan Curtin were selected as LEC Men's Soccer Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively. They helped the Panther squads to a pair of wins for the week as the teams head into the final two weeks of the regular season.
A 5'10" forward, Morin recorded four goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Panthers, including a game-winning goal. She tallied three goals and an assist in Wednesday's 6-3 non-conference victory at Springfield, including the go-ahead and eventual game-winning goal in the second half. She added a second-half goal in Saturday's 3-0 LEC triumph at Salem State.
Morin is enjoying a strong season offensively, leading the team in scoring with 12 goals, four assists and 28 points. She ranks third in the LEC in both goals and points per game and shares the conference lead with four game-winning goals.

Quist, a 6'0" defender, and Curtin, a 5'10" defender, were two of the standouts on the defensive back line for PSU as the Panthers allowed just one goal in two games, posting a 2-0 record with one shutout. The Panthers limited Colby-Sawyer to just seven shots Wednesday in a 3-1 non-conference decision, and held LEC foe Western Connecticut to seven shots as well Saturday with a 1-0 conference victory.
Both Panther squads are back in action with a pair of games this week. The field hockey team (12-1 overall, 7-1 LEC) visits Framingham State University on Wednesday and returns home to host Bridgewater State University on Saturday, while the men's soccer squad (4-8 overall, 2-3 LEC) travels to Middlebury College on Wednesday and hosts Rhode Island College Saturday on Senior Day at Panther Field.
