PSU Field Hockey forward earns Little East Weekly Honor
Garvey selected LEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The leading scorer on the Plymouth State University field hockey team was honored by the Little East Conference Monday for her performance in a pair of Panthers victories last week.
Junior Nikki Garvey (Canaan, N.H./Mascoma) was selected the LEC Field Hockey Co-Offensive Player of the Week, sharing the award with the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth senior Eleanor Taylor. Garvey was instrumental in PSU's two wins last week as the Panthers evened their record at 3-3.
A 4'11" forward, Garvey registered three goals and two assists in the 2-0 week for the Panthers. She assisted on one goal in Tuesday's non-conference win over New England College, and she tallied three goals and an assist in Saturday's LEC win over Western Connecticut.
Garvey has three multiple-goal games this season, pushing her season totals to eight goals and two assists in five games. She leads the LEC in goals and points per game, and ranks seventh nationally in the NCAA Division III in goals per game and ninth in points per contest.
The Panthers, 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the LEC, will host Westfield State University this Saturday at Arold Field at 12 noon.
