McPherson scores game-winner for the Panthers in overtime
NEW HAMPTON, N.H. – The Plymouth State University field hockey team ended the regular season with a 1-0 overtime win at home Wednesday evening at New Hampton School. Panthers freshman Kate McPherson (Conway, NH) scored in in the beginning of the overtime to give the victory over the Monks.
Junior Katie Martin (Waterbury Ctr., VT) passed to McPherson on a penalty corner, and McPherson then danced through a few defenders and slammed it into the net for the win.

- Both teams had a good scoring opportunity halfway through the second half as Plymouths McPherson and St. Joseph's sophomore Kara Kelly (York, ME) put solid shots on goal. SJC sophomore defender Kayla Veilleux (Sabattus, ME) kept the Panthers off the score board with a defensive save.
- Plymouth stopped St. Joseph's eight game winning streak in the regular season finale.
- Panthers junior Alivia Bates (Pennsauken, NJ.) posted four saves, while her counterpart Megan Baker (Gorham, ME.) made nine saves in the loss.
Plymouth State will travel to Fitchburg State on Saturday, October 29th at 7:30pm for the LEC quarterfinal. St. Joseph's will play Wednesday, November 2nd in the GNAC semi-final, TBD.
