PSU Field Hockey player selected to NFHCA Senior Game

Burgess to represent Panthers in prestigious contest

            PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The leading scorer on the Plymouth State University field hockey team has been selected as one of the top seniors in the country by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

            Senior forward Nicole Burgess (Mexico, Maine/Mountain Valley) was selected to participate in the 2016 Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game. The contest will take place this Saturday, November 19th at 4 p.m. at William Smith College in Geneva, N.Y., the site of the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship.

            Burgess was recognized after an outstanding season and career at Plymouth State, earning her second straight All-Little East Conference First Team honor. She led the Panthers in scoring for the second year in a row with career highs of 16 goals, five assists and 37 points. Burgess completes her 61-game career with 32 goals, seven assists and 71 points.

            Plymouth State completed the season with an 11-6 overall record under head coach Bonnie Lord. The Panthers finished in a tie for third place in the Little East and advanced to the LEC semifinals before falling at top-seeded Keene State.
