12 Panthers recognized nationally for classroom work
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Members of the Plymouth State University field hockey team have been recognized with national academic honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).
The Panthers as a team were recognized with the 2016 NFHCA Collegiate National Academic Team Award, which recognizes those institutions that achieved a minimum Team GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year.
Three Panther student-athletes, senior Kendal Lariviere (Dover, N.H./Dover), sophomore Dom Tarr (Antrim, N.H./Contoocook) and freshman Katie Shippa (Lebanon, N.H.) were named NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction, which recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year.
A dozen Panthers were named to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad, which recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year. The 12 student-athletes representing Plymouth State on the National Academic Squad are seniors Nicole Burgess (Mexico, Maine/Mountain Valley), Rosalie Edmonds (Goffstown, N.H.), Kendal Lariviere (Dover, N.H.) and Jordan Ray (Standish, Maine/Bonny Eagle); juniors Alivia Bates (Pennsauken, N.J.) and Lily Davis (Boscawen, N.H./Merrimack Valley); sophomores Meghan Lahti (Lunenberg, Mass.) and Dom Tarr (Antrim, N.H./Contoocook); and freshmen Maria DeSisto (Plaistow, N.H./Pentucket Regional), Georgia Drew (Portland, Maine), Maddie Kabasakalian (Kent, Conn./The Kent School), and Katie Shippa (Lebanon, N.H.).
