PSU Field Hockey player selected as alternate for NFHCA Division III Senior Game

Bates among nations top goalkeepers 

            PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University senior goalkeeper Alivia Bates (Pennsauken, N.J.) has been selected as an alternate for the Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Game.

            Bates was one of 72 student-athletes selected as either participants or alternates for the contest, which will be held during the weekend of the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament championships. The national semifinals will take place on Friday, Nov. 17 at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky. The D-III Senior Game will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 5:00 p.m. at Bellarmine, with the National Championship game set for Sunday, Nov. 19 at the University of Louisville.

            Bates has been spectacular in the cage for the Panthers this fall. Her .857 save percentage is tops in the Little East Conference and third best in the nation. She also leads the LEC with a 1.01 goals against average after recording four shutouts. The 5-7 goalie has posted 16 shutouts over her career, the second most in program history.

            The Panthers are back in action on Saturday (Oct. 21) when they travel to Westfield State for an LEC contest with the Owls. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
