PLYMOUTH, N.H. - For the second straight week, a co-captain of the Plymouth State College men's basketball team has received recognition from the Little East Conference and the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
Senior Ace Elefteriadis (Belmont, MA), a 6'3" forward, was named to both the ECAC New England and LEC Weekly Honor Rolls. He averaged 19.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.0 steals in three PSC games last week, including a PSC season-high 30-point effort last Thursday at Bowdoin. Elefteriadis helped the Panthers win two of their three games last week, earning weekly honors for the second straight week.
The Panthers, 8-4 overall, are tied for first place in the LEC with five-time defending champion UMass Dartmouth, both at 4-1 in conference games. PSC plays a pair of key conference games this week - Tuesday (Jan. 20) at Foley Gymnasium against Southern Maine (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday (Jan. 24) at Western Connecticut (3:00 p.m.).
The Panthers continue to have several players among the conference leaders. Elefteriadis and junior Adam DeChristopher (Brockton, MA) are tied for fourth in scoring with 15.6 ppg, and junior Eric McQueen (Lawrence, MA) is ninth with 12.5 ppg. Elefteriadis is also among the leaders in rebounding (6.0 rpg), steals (2.2 spg), FG percentage (.419) and 3-point FG percentage (.333), and DeChristopher also appears on the leader board in assists (3.5 apg) and FT percentage (.828). Senior center Doug Stokes (Wyckoff, NJ), a transfer from the College of New Jersey, is averaging 10.2 points and is among the LEC leaders in rebounding (6.7) and FT percentage (.780), and senior co-captain Seth Peloso (Rye, NH), a top defensive stalwart, is averaging 6.6 points and 2.4 steals an outing.
