Martinez to play in Senior All-Star Game

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The leading scorer on the Plymouth State College men's basketball team has been selected to play in the New England Basketball Coaches Association Senior All-Star Classic.

Senior Tony Martinez (Barnstead, N.H.) will represent PSC for the North Team, which will battle the South squad in the all-star game on Tuesday (Apr. 10) at 6 p.m. at the Hart Center on the campus of Holy Cross. The Division I vs. Division II game will be played at 7:30 p.m.

A 6'3" power forward, Martinez concluded an outstanding career for the Panthers this past winter. A two-time Little East Conference First Team All-Star, he averaged 21.6 points and 7.5 rebounds this season for the Panthers. Martinez concluded his career third on PSC's all-time scoring list with 1,556 points.

Martinez helped PSC to a 14-12 overall record in 2000-01. The Panthers finished fourth in the Little East Conference regular season with an 8-6 mark, and advanced to the LEC Tournament semi-finals. Martinez was a selection on the LEC All-Tournament Team.
