PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The post-season honors continue to come in for the top players on the Plymouth State College men's and women's basketball teams, and three Panthers have received regional honors from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and d3hoops.com.
Senior forward Courtney Albert (Hudson, N.H.) was selected to the d3hoops.com Women's All-Northeast Region First Team, and the ECAC All-New England Second Team. Senior guard Jenn Pelletier (Derry, N.H.) was voted to the All-Northeast Region Second Team by d3hoops.com.
On the men's side, sophomore Nick Pelotte (Bingham, Maine) was named ECAC All-New England First Team, and All-Northeast Region Second Team by d3hoops.com.
Albert, who finished as the school's all-time scoring leader (1,711 points), has already received numerous honors this year. She was named First Team All-Little East Conference for the third straight season and established four individual school records. Pelletier earned LEC All-Star honors for the third consecutive campaign and finished her career as the school record holder in assists (479) and steals (270) and the second all-time leading scorer (1,278 points).
Pelotte was a First Team All-Conference selection as well as LEC Co-Player of the Year after averaging 18.6 points a game this season. He drained 67 three-pointers and was PSC's leading scorer in 16 of the team's 29 outings.
Both Panther squads completed outstanding seasons in 2002-03. The PSC women, under head coach Lauren Lavigne, won their second straight ECAC New England title and finished 23-8 overall to set a school record with victories in a season. The PSC men, guided by head coach John Scheinman, went 21-8 and were edged in the closing moments in the championship game of the LEC before advancing to the ECAC New England Tournament.
