PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of the top players on the Plymouth State University men's basketball team continues to shine, and was recognized by the Little East Conference Monday for the third time this season.
Junior forward Anthony Oglesby (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was selected to the LEC Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll. He was previously honored once in November and once in January.
A 6'3" forward, Oglesby averaged 15.0 points and 10.5 rebounds as
PSU went 2-0 last week. He had 11 points, nine boards, four assists
and four steals Thursday in an 82-67 non-conference victory at
Bridgewater State, and added 19 points and 12 rebounds in
Saturday's 74-65 LEC win over Eastern Connecticut, his seventh
double-double of the season.
Oglesby, who earned First Team All-LEC honors a year ago, is again one of the top players in the conference this season. He leads the Little East in rebounding (9.6 rpg) and steals (2.8 spg), ranks eighth in free throw percentage (.708) and ranks 14th in scoring (13.7 ppg). He is the catalyst for the Panther defense, which ranks seventh in the nation in field goal percentage defense (37.7).
Both Plymouth State basketball teams play a pair of LEC road games this week, Tuesday at archrival Keene State (women at 5:30 p.m., men at 7:30 p.m.) and Saturday at UMass Boston (women at 1:00 p.m., men at 3:00 p.m.).
The Panther men, 17-4 overall, are alone in second place in the LEC with a 7-3 mark, trailing only 10-0 Keene State. The PSU women, 10-11 overall, are alone in fifth place in the LEC at 4-6, but can still finish anywhere between third and eighth.
